Closet organisation can be a serious challenge 🤔

Storing clothes, shoes, jackets and accessories is always difficult, as these things tend to be on display as you need to be able to walk into the room or open the doors of your wardrobe and see exactly what you have.

As I will be moving house soon, I have been spending a lot of time on Pinterest scrolling for decor and organisation inspiration, so I thought it’s only right that I share some of the best ideas that I have come across when it comes to creating an organised, practical and aesthetically pleasing closet. 👗👙👠

I hope you get some ideas and inspiration from this post! Let me know in the comments which tip you found most helpful, and if you have any other tricks for closet decor or organisation.

8 Clever Ways To Organize Your Closet

If you’re short on space, then tossing the wardrobe and opting for an open plan closet like this one can be a great option. If you want to see how this was made then check out Alicia’s blog for the tutorial.

If you live in a super small house or apartment, then storing your clothes under the bed can be a great way to reduce the amount of furniture you require. Alternatively, this can also be a great way to pack away out of season clothes as the weather transitions between winter and summer.

If you have a tonne of bags and other accessories that you can’t bear to part with but can’t find a place to store then don’t worry! Utilizing the space on the back of doors is a great way to store your handbags, purses and other items that would otherwise not have a home.

Rather than trying to fold your clothes and keep them tidy in your drawers without any kind of guide to follow, these drawer organisers will help you to keep like items together and everything tidy and easy to access.

S-hooks are a great way to hang belts as they simply hook over your clothing rail whilst the other end hooks onto the belt buckle. These are a super affordable way to keep things tidy and avoid a tangled mess of belts on your floor.

Shoe storage can be one of the biggest challenges when it comes to closet storage – particularly for those of us living in small apartments 👋🏻

Install some floating shelves to the back wall of your closet and you will be able to store all your shoes in one place and you can make the most of the height of your ceilings!

Create up to double the space to hang your clothes by opting for slimline hangers. Also look out for non-slip options so that light items don’t fall off the hanger and onto the floor. Matching hangers will also give your closet a more coordinated look and bring everything together.

Finally, try using a ladder shelf to display scarves. this way, you can see every piece that you have whilst still being able to keep your things organised. Plus, the streamlined shape of the ladder means you can prop it up against a wall and it’ll be minimally invasive.
