There is no better time of year to take up a new activity when the suns out in full beam.
Exercising is much more enjoyable when you can do so out in the fresh air soaking up some vitamin D at the same time.
Why not try running, jogging, cycling or hiking for a free workout?
If you want to join a gym, then swimming and group exercise classes are a brilliant way to make friends and loose some extra pounds at the same time.
Enjoy Foods That Come From The Earth
Summertime means that the tastiest fruits and vegetables are perfectly in season making them cheaper and more easily accessible.
Fill up on homemade salads packed with a load of amazing nutrients that will help with energy levels, strengthening your immune system, skin hair and nail health, plus keeping the pounds off. You don’t have to eat bland foods, there are a tonne of healthy snacks that you can enjoy that won’t make you gain weight.
Dehydration is responsible for a range of negative side effects but one, in particular, is that it slows your metabolism – a lot.
With the warmer weather, you need to take extra care in summer to be sipping water regularly throughout the day.
Drinking plenty of fluids is a great appetite suppressant and will help extend the time you can go in between meals.If you’re seriously dehydrated then the brain will send signals through your body that make you think that you’re hungry when you’re actually just thirsty.
So next time you’re feeling hungry not long after a meal, try drinking a couple of glasses of water before reaching for food.
Take Care Of Your Sleeping
Make sure you’re getting at least seven hours of quality sleep every night in a cool dark room on a supportive mattress.
Sleep deprivation is another matter which can cause an increase in weight gain. Tiredness can cause you to comfort eat if you are feeling low in energy or motivation as a result of a late night. Plus, lack of sleep can wreak havoc on our hormones leading to weight gain.
If you struggle to get to sleep in summer when the weather is hotter, then try sleeping with a window open or invest in a fan for your bedroom.
Enjoy Fruits Instead Of Sweets
Rather than filling up on sweets and chocolates, make the most of in season fruits to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Strawberries, pineapple and melon are my personal favourites when it comes to summer fruits and all boast their own additional health benefits such as reducing bloating, containing antioxidant properties, improving heart health, reducing cancer risk and nourishing hair, skin and nails.
Adding chili to your meals will not only aid weight loss as chili peppers speed up digestion and metabolism, but if you add a little more chili than you’re comfortable with to your meal, you’re less likely to overeat.
It’s an unusual way of thinking, but this is a great way to manage portion control if you’re wanting to lose weight.
