Sometimes we just don’t have the time to think about the perfect outfit. You just need to get out the door and on with your day as fast as possible.

So how is it that we see celebrities and influencers rocking some of the most basic outfits, whilst still looking ultra stylish? What are the best ways to make blue jeans and a white tshirt look modern, fashionable and well put together?

The secret is that it’s all in the accessories you choose. Dressing up a basic look with a nice bag, snazzy heels and some sparkly jewellery can do absolute wonders.

I’ve put together a list of some of the best accessories that you need to take any outfit from basic to breathtaking – if you have these pieces in your closet, it’ll be easier than ever to look and feel your best no matter where you’re going and what you’re wearing.

5 Ultra Stylish Accessories To Elevate Any Outfit

Adding a pair of heels to an outfit automatically adds style and sophistication.

Not only are heels aesthetically flattering in the basic sense of the word, but wearing heels forces you to stand up straighter, and for most women, instantly makes them feel more confident. People will pick up on this and you’ll instantly give off a sense of self-assurance which other people naturally find attractive.

Nude heels are the best option for most outfits, as they pair well with every other colour, will never go out of style and are suitable for any season.

Plus, choosing nude heels will elongate your legs, as the colour of the shoes will blend in with your natural skin colour and just look like an extension of your own legs.

Having a couple of versatile black jackets and coats in your collection will help you top off any look with a bit of class, no matter the season.

I like to have a black leather jacket, black blazer and a black woolen pea coat or duffle coat. Choose something that is fairly basic but well cut to flatter your figure, and you’ll be able to pair your outerwear with anything – jeans, dresses, smart trousers, skirts – no matter the season.

Wearing the wrong type of jacket for the season can make you look shabby, so make sure you’re always prepared. Having the essentials in black means that you can pair the same coat with any outfit you’re wearing on a daily basis, and you can effortlessly look put together every single day.

I love to have a couple of eye catching tote bags in my collection that I can switch around from time to time to keep things feeling fresh.

Opting for a tote bag will ensure that you have the space you need in your bag to carry around all your essentials including laptops and electronics, shopping, baby supplies, makeup etc.

Adding an eye-catching bag to a plain, monochromatic outfit, such as an all black look, is a great way to add some much needed visual interest. Here are a couple of my favourites right now which would look stunning with any outfit.

Watches have become less of a time telling tool and more of a fashion statement in the last few decades, especially given the fact that a large percentage of us have a smartphone in our hands at all times to tell us what time it is.

A nice watch shows grace and elegance and makes any outfit look more grown up – particularly when styled well with accompanying jewellery. Look for something unique and striking, but don’t go too bling – overdoing it with the sparkle can have the reverse affect and make your entire outfit look tacky.

Use jewellery to elevate your look and take a basic outfit from dull to dapper! Don’t overdo it – just a simple pair of earrings, a necklace and a few bracelets and rings will set your outfit off perfectly.

Avoid costume jewellery as even the more expensive pieces can end up looking tacky and gimmicky – stick to gold and silver and if you want to really go the extra mile, pearls will make you feel like a million dollars!
